The Story of
Art Gallery
By Mani
All my works are single and unique. There are no prints and no piece is repeated so whatever you pick will be one of its kind.
HELLO
I am Mani. The artist, painter, creator, designer and founder of Art Gallery by Mani. On my site and in my works you will see lots of colour. I am most happy creating multicolour abstracts. Since I love all colours, I try to incorporate as many as possible in my paintings. My works are an unapologetic celebration of colours
I consider myself lucky to be in a position to follow my passion everyday ie. Create art. This not only gives me immense happiness but also motivates me to do better. When I sit and conceptualize a new work I can feel my senses coming together.
Not all works come out well but each time I learn something. Mixing colors and creating with watercolors and acrylics is a joy each time. I enjoy making watercolor florals combined with what I call “everyday life quotes” along with abstracts in acrylics. These works are an expression of the complexity and beauty of how I see the wonderful world around me. I paint in multiple styles creating pure abstracts to loose floral abstracts. I work on paper, canvas boards and stretched canvas.
My paintings are hand made with love and passion. The art that I create come from my heart, expressing my emotions using brushstrokes, color and expressive designs to communicate with the world. My aim is to create works that spark joy and relaxation in areas where they are displayed. I wish the colours in my works bring about positive energy when a person looks at it.
My only desire is that the works should make others happy or at peace. A lot of people ask me how I know if an artwork will be able to achieve its purpose. Usually I just know. And when that happens I feel proud and happy deep down, like I have accomplished something great.
“All my works are single and unique. There are no prints and no piece is repeated so whatever you pick will be one of its kind. ” These artworks can be placed in homes, offices, lounges, reception areas etc. Many of my clients consider my artworks for a great corporate gift options. The framed “Everyday life quotes” series make visually beautiful, strong, impressionable and at the same time loving reminders, when you wish to say something to a loved one or to yourself.
My clientele is mostly based in India but quite a few of my works have been lucky to travel to various cities and countries.
My Ever Evolving Art Process
I have had a solid connection with colors and art ever since I was a child. I mostly used poster colours, colouring pencils and oil paints to create art. The concept of mixed media did not exist. What started out as a hobby has become a full time career now. I usually begin with the conceptualization of a single piece or a collection. With watercolours the process is mostly intuitive. Since I do a lot of florals, they come out best when I work with the flow.
When I first started my process was completely different. It was rigid, with time it has become more fluid. Sometimes I incorporate lettering and doodling in my works. Creating abstract artworks is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. There are many options and the right variable has to be put at the right place. Sometimes it requires changes, sometimes revision, sometimes correction and sometimes patience for the big picture to emerge. The most important point is to know when it is complete. How do I know that? Intuitively I just know that and that point the artwork feels complete to me.
“I most happily create in my studio late at night and usually with a cup of coffee. It’s usually quiet at that time and I am able to concentrate better. I work rework on my works till I am satisfied”
